Domaine des Colombières guided Tour

Ferdinand Bac (1859-1952) was a talented draughtsman, illustrator, caricaturist and writer who was a regular visitor to the Parisian salons. He was a leading figure of the Belle Epoque. A witness of his time, putting his pen and his line at the service of the press, regularly signing sulphurous social columns, received at the table of the powerful of this world, familiar with the Empress Eugénie, Ferdinand Bac was also a builder who gave form and soul to matter. A man of knowledge, Bac was not satisfied with mere intellectual speculation. He became a man of action by becoming an architect, decorator and garden designer.
