We often say ‘I think that...’; for example, ‘I think I left my jacket at school’. But is that really the right word? Is thought in the rigorous sense of the term, particularly that which is activated in the exercise of philosophy, of the same order as that which accompanies us, more or less spontaneously, in our daily lives?
