A feast for the eyes with the 1st edition of this film festival in the magnificent setting of the Monastery: "Margini" (2022) by Niccolo Falsetti and "Heureux comme Lazzaro" (2018) by Alice Rohrwacher, presented by filmmakers Manon Ott and Grégory Cohen.
Synopsis of "Margini": In the summer of 2008, three friends have the opportunity of a lifetime: to open the concert for a major American punk band. When, at the last minute, the concert is cancelled, Edo, Iac and Miche decide to reorganize it in their home town, Grosseto. But bringing a major punk event to the sleepy Tuscan province will be an adventure that will put their friendship to the test.
Synopsis of "Happy as Lazzaro": Lazzaro, an exceptionally kind young peasant, lives in l'Inviolata, a hamlet set apart from the rest of the world and ruled by the Marquise Alfonsina de Luna. The peasants' lives have always been unchanged: they are exploited, and in turn, they abuse Lazzaro's kindness.
