Mercantour Park

a treasure to be preserved for future generations!

A protected territory open to all, the Parc du Mercantour is home to an exceptionally diverse and fragile flora and fauna. In terms of landscape, the Park owes its unique character to the layering of its vegetation. From the olive trees of the Bévéra to the larches of the Valmasque valley and the mineral alpine landscapes of Mont Bégo, for the hiker, the journey is in the landscape. In terms of flora, 2,400 species have been recorded. In spring, multi-flowered saxifrage, houseleek, silene acaule and gentian offer visitors a myriad of colors and scents. On the wildlife side, eagles, black grouse, mountain hares, ermine and many others inhabit the park. Keep your eyes peeled for hikers! Ibexes and marmots are easy to spot – all it takes is a little patience and silence. Magic memories for children!
