L'Espace sans nom is honored to welcome the graphic work of this multi-hatted artist from Avignon, who has been exhibited all over the world, most recently at the prestigious Rencontres du 9ème art d'Aix. Don't miss this opportunity to discover him!
Opening on Monday, August 18 at 6pm, with refreshments, concert and... Boom from 7pm to 9pm!
Ben Sanair's work takes the form of serigraphs, editions and small blister-packed figurines.
He offers a radiant blend of influences gleaned here and there from pop culture, avant-garde comics and literature, Kaijū* films and other made-in-Japan oddities, and the "underground" music scene. Through his artisanal publishing house La Générale Minérale, Ben is also committed to promoting and highlighting the work of international artists who are often invisible in traditional contemporary art circuits.
For this third and final summer exhibition, located in the heart of Saorge village center, the Espace sans nom is a new venue dedicated to the visual arts, at the crossroads between contemporary art and Do-It-Yourself art on the bangs of institutional circuits.

*Kaijū (lit. "strange beast" or "mysterious beast") is a Japanese term for strange creatures, particularly giant monsters from Japanese films called kaijū eiga. The Japanese notion of a monster is different from that of Westerners; a kaijū is seen rather as a force of nature before which man is powerless, and not a force of evil (Source: Wikipedia).
