In writing residency at the Monastery of Saorge✍️Rémi Algis is pursuing the creation of a practical drawn and written manual "L'art de cultiver le vivant" aimed at whoever takes care of our landscapes
ll share his approach through concrete examples, a crossbreeding of often separate disciplines - landscape design, permaculture, life and earth sciences, social and human sciences, traditional agriculture - to imagine robust, sustainable and beautiful cultivated landscapes in a world that has become unpredictable
Rémi Algis is a landscape architect, a graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure du Paysage de Versailles.
He has been involved in the creation of dozens of gardens and food farms, and works closely with permaculture pioneers Charles Hervé-Gruyer and Perrine Bulgheroni (Bec Hellouin organic farm). He divides his time between research, creation and passing on his know-how and experience
He has an ecological, social and humanist vision of landscape-making: care for all living things, cooperation, emancipation, autonomy and the creation of commons are values he seeks to embody throughout the process, from the conception to the life of these landscapes.
