Our list of slow pleasures

Markets, walks and lounging
The to-do list small vacation pleasures

There’s only one thing worth squeezing here: lemon! Once you’ve savored the luminous fruit of Menton, Wonderland invites you to let go and enjoy the simple pleasure of slowing down. Looking for a cure for authenticity? Between sunny markets, hilltop villages and idleness, discover our list of 100% slow pleasures. On your marks, get set, stroll…

Monday

Menton

What better destination than Menton to savor the dolce vita à la française? Here, the sun bathes the old stone, the IGP citrus fruits and the footsteps of the poet Cocteau, an unconditional devotee of the city. But be warned: one day in Menton is far from enough to discover all its secrets!

Tuesday

Sospel

A short bus ride and you’re at the foot of the picturesque village of Sospel, right on the Mercantour. In love with the boot? Sospel’s Pont-vieux (old bridge), a must-see on the Salt Route, its warmly-colored facades and its baroque Saint-Michel cathedral will give you a foretaste of Italian charm.

Wednesday

Breil-sur-Roya

Welcome to the land of 100,000 olive trees! Take advantage of their many benefits, because there’s going to be some sport today. This nature-focused village will get you out on your paddles for a summer canyoning session, and lace up your hiking boots to reach the Tour Cruella just above the village. A pinch of Nice and a dash of Italy: that’s the recipe for this refreshing southeastern nugget.

Thursday

Saorge

Saorge has a reputation for uplifting the souls of travelers. On the Route du Baroque and the historic organs of the Roya Valley, this monumental village will thrill you with its serene mountains, Baroque heritage and maze of staircase lanes.

Friday

La Brigue

La Brigue is the shepherd of the valley! Lonely in its high mountains, this village of character will delight lovers of superb scenery. With its racy gastronomy, Haute Roule du Sel and Brigasque ewes, it’s time for a bit of tradition?

Saturday

Tende

A small medieval town in the heart of the Mercantour National Park and at the gateway to the Vallée des Merveilles, Tende reveals its charms between heaven and earth. Immerse yourself in its old village and take a break in its vibrantly colored collegiate church.

Overflowing baskets at the market

Can you smell it? That sweet smell of the South wafting through the air… For an impromptu picnic or a family aperitif, to make your mouth water or pack a souvenir, to keep your figure or treat yourself, there’s always a market nearby! Between their stalls, Wonderland takes on its full meaning. Curious, generous, epicurean: our markets are a lot like us, and not just a little.

From tastings to sun-drenched finds, time stands still, as if to better savor the moment… And what if this was true luxury?
