The complex of buildings built for the PLM, inaugurated on 30 October 1928 at the junction of the two lines, Cuneo-Ventimiglia (operated by the FS) and Nice-Breil (operated by the PLM), is characterised by an architectural identity in the "Nice" style.
The Breil station required extensive earthworks in the natural slope of the site, to create a vast plateau to accommodate this international station.

The Breil railway installations, commissioned in 1928, were calibrated for the large amount of cross-border passenger and freight traffic at that time.
