Chapel of La Menour

Historic site and monument, Historic patrimony, Religious heritage, Chapel, Roman, 12th C in Moulinet
  • This sanctuary with its vertiginous staircase (listed as a Historical Monument in 1937) overlooks the gorges of the Bévéra valley.. A place of pilgrimage, the chapel has been redesigned over the centuries. Its oldest elements date from the 12th century.

  • It has 2 apses of different age. The Romanesque chapel was not oriented and defended the access to the castle of La Menour . The chapel was rebuilt in the second half of the 17th century with the choir to the east. It was restored in 2019.

The chapel is open on request from Moulinet Town Hall. We advise you to plan your visit to the chapel in advance and to contact the Mairie the day before at the latest.
