Leave from the Breil tourist office at Place Biancheri, cross the little Charabot bridge over the lake and go straight up under the railway line.
At the crossroads, STOP sign 7, turn right, cutting the bend in the road by the steps and following the Avenue de l'Authion.
At STOP sign 8, turn left up the Montée de la Croix stairs. This shortcut joins and crosses the small road leading to the Notre-Dame du Mont chapel, before turning right at STOP sign 8a onto the stairs leading up Saint-Jean d'Ermi.
The route again crosses the small road to the chapelle du Mont one bend above.
It leads to the Col de Brouis road (RD2204 Breil-Sospel), SIGNpost 15. Go up this road for a few dozen metres to pick up the path on the right-hand side, MARKER 14.
The path crosses the DFCI track several times as it climbs to the Col d'Agnon via the Cougou and Bourgemo districts. Look out for beacons 127, 128 and 129, where you will come across the DFCI tank, a paragliding departure point and a large sheepfold with numerous fences.
The path continues to cut across the bends in the track.
You walk along it for a while before picking up the path on your right that climbs across to the Col d'Agnon. There is no remarkable view from here as it is in the forest.
From the pass, you can follow the military trail that leads to the Campé ridge on the right, from where you can enjoy beautiful views over the north and south Roya valleys, and discover the fortified remains of the Campé valley.
You can of course return down the same route, or do this loop:
At the DFCI cistern under the sheepfold, at MARKER 129, go completely to the right. You will come to the track below, which you will cross again, then at MARKER 130 you will come to the Col de Brouis road. Follow the road up to the right and, after the large bend, take the track on the left, signposted ‘Quartier Morgella’ (131).
Cross the torrent of the Lavina valley at Marker 132 and join the GR 52 A (Mercantour panoramic route) at Marker 126 and the Notre-Dame des Grâces chapel.
Continue along this little road until you reach your starting point, waypoints 120, 7a, 7... to cross Lac de Breil on the Charabot bridge and find yourself back at Biancheri Square !
