Arrival at the lac des Mesches via a beautiful route lined with pine trees, with views of the Marguareis massif as you climb up the Spegi road, and of Mount Bego at the start of the path overlooking the Bieugne river which flows down from the Lac des Mesches.
- From the centre of the village (b 55), cross the medieval town towards the 15th century collegiate church. Turn right after the collegiate church, passing the baroque chapel of the Miséricorde des Pénitents Noirs, to reach marker 64.
- Go up behind the "Les Carlines" guesthouse and follow the signs for Spegi (b 65).
- Pass marker 342, continue on the road and pass markers 343 and 344. From the latter, you continue straight on the charming Valaire path to marker 345, above Lac des Mèches. Descend to lac des Mesches (b 83).
