Beaches

A fabulous choice of beaches

All along the coastline of the Menton, Riviera & Merveilles area, the Mediterranean offers an incredible variety of beaches. It is also an amazing area for families, and those looking for some excitement, to enjoy water sports, walks along the coast, and scuba diving almost all year round.

Les Sablettes Beach

A favourite among families!
in Menton

An exceptional view over the old town, mountains and the Italian coast! Near to Vieux-Port, Les Sablettes beach offers families a gentle slope into the water. This is the largest beach in Menton and its fine gravel, mixed with sand, makes it ideal for little feet to enjoy the shallow waters. Palm trees, pergolas and water fountains create cool spots for the hottest times of the day. A number of cafés, restaurants and shops nearby mean you can enjoy a refreshing swim and take the pressure off the day’s activities. Toilet and shower facilities and lockers are on hand for bathing during the summer months. The lift provides access for everyone from the quay or the Esplanade des Sablettes car park.

The Esplanade des Sablettes, the new hot spot!

The Esplanade des Sablettes promenade along the beach is a wide and pleasant pedestrian area. Lined with greenery, the area comes alive throughout the summer with various events and festivities.

Le Buse Beach

A hidden gem…
in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin

Located in the Bay of Cabbé, in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, this small pebble beach is a magical unspoilt location. Far from the road and cars, its crystal-clear waters are delightful. One of the most spectacular features of the beach is its sub-aqua freshwater springs, offering incredibly cool pockets in summer. The spot is well worth a visit and can only be reached on foot from the steps at the station. Walkers can also get there by following the Le Corbusier route, then the Le Buse path. There are also showers available. However, please take care with your little ones as swimming is not supervised in summer.

Casino Beach and Marché Beach in Menton

Bathing to suit everyone!

At the end of Avenue de Sospel, the main street running through the town, opposite the Casino, Casino Beach is an ideal spot for everyone to enjoy. Accessible via a ramp for people with reduced mobility, and lifeguard surveillance in high season, it is the perfect place for bathing in complete safety.
Large pebbles and a number of sandy patches provide a place to lay your towels. There is a choice of restaurants in the vicinity to satisfy foodies and lighten your beach bag! Toilet and shower facilities are available for your convenience. An area is also set aside for our four-legged friends…

Marché Beach in Menton stretches from the Jean Cocteau Museum to Menton Casino. With a lovely wide shoreline, its small pebbles will welcome bathers looking for a little more comfort.
Several access points are available for people with reduced mobility including those opposite the Hotel Royal Westminster and adjacent to the Paparazzi Bar. Families will be pleased to know that there are showers and a first aid post (in season) available.
