Since 2015, Anne Vivier has been working in Menton alongside Michel Abbatangelo in the Quai Bonaparte studio, a closeness that nurtures a creative dialogue where painting becomes a true tool of knowledge.
Active between Menton and lla frontiere de Balzi Rossi, and promoter of collective outdoor experiences through the "Académie de la Ligurie et de Menton", Vivier sees the landscape - from Garavan Bay to the border cliffs of Balzi Rossi - as a phenomenological device. It's not a question of representing a place, but of perceptively inhabiting a field of forces where the visible and invisible coexist.

His practice is rooted in a consciously reactivated Post-Impressionist genealogy. The adoption of a pointillist technique is not a matter of historical quotation, but of an epistemological operation: the fragmentation of the surface into minimal units of color-light suspends the apparent solidity of matter and restores it as vibration. The image is not given as a finished form, but as a perceptual event occurring in the eye.

From this perspective, painting becomes a space of resonance between phenomenological sensitivity and contemporary scientific imagination. Matter, understood not as a stable substance but as a temporary condensation of energy, evokes both the Buddhist intuition of impermanence and the relativistic vision inaugurated by Albert Einstein, to the point of touching on quantum conceptions of reality as a web of relationships and probabilities. The canvas is thus configured as an energy field, a surface where color acts through interference, superimposition and vibratory micro-shifts.

The landscape, far from being a mere setting, manifests itself as a dynamic organism. The almost botanical attention paid to natural detail does not reflect a descriptive impulse, but an investigation of thresholds: between form and dissolution, between presence and becoming. Light doesn't illuminate matter; it generates it.

Supported by a major patron and represented in international collections, Anne Vivier is developing a style of painting that not only revives the landscape tradition, but transforms it into an ontological interrogation: what does it mean to see, when what appears is already vibration?
