Menton has 4,100 meters of beach and welcomes 40,000 tourists every summer. As the safety of bathers is a priority for the municipality, the Ville de Menton is organizing a training session for the Brevet national de sécurité et de sauvetage aquatique (BNSSA).
Graduates will then be able to apply to the City or SDIS06 for a position as lifeguard during the summer season.
Pre-selections will take place at the Alex Jany pool, in partnership with SDIS06 and Mission locale Est 06.
Pre-selection tests :
- 200m Fins-Mask-Tuba "timed
- 75m maximum including: 25m Freestyle, 25m with apnea of approx. 15m and 15 to 25m with a "non-timed" dummy
This will be followed by training periods:
- PSC1 training: April 18 and 19, 2026
- training: April 20 to 24, 2026 (possibility of training during the 2nd week)
The exam date is set for May 2, 2026.
The training course is 67% financed (i.e. 300€). The remaining 150€ must be paid by the candidate.
Conditions for application:
- 18 years of age (or emancipated) when taking the diploma
- have a clean criminal record
- up to date with mandatory vaccinations
- blood test
- complete application file.
