Chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary and also called Chapel of the White Penitents.A fine example of the art of the Catholic Reformation, was the seat of the Brotherhood of White Penitents.
The chapel of the Immaculate Conception, or White Penitents, was built from 1680, in the Capitol district, on land outside the walls of the medieval city, donated by Prince Louis I Grimaldi and the family of Monléon. Witness to the shift of the city towards the West, it was opened to worship in 1687. From then until the French Revolution, it was the seat of the brotherhood of the White Penitents.
