The Col de Tende tunnel, linking France and Italy in the heart of the Alps, has been accessible again since June 28, 2025, with modified opening hours to facilitate modernization work.

Open according to time slots, supervised by convoys:

Until Sunday, January 11, 2026, traffic inside the Tende tunnel will be regulated as follows.

Weekdays: from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm
- from Italy to France first passage at 6.00 am, last passage at 8.30 pm
- from France to Italy first pass at 6.15am, last pass at 8.45pm

Saturday, Sunday and public holidays: 6:00 am - 11:00 pm
- from Italy to France first service at 6.00 am, last service at 10.30 pm
- from France to Italy first at 6.15am, last at 10.45pm

The Intergovernmental Commission will meet again in January 2026 to decide on the tunnel opening times from Monday January 12.

Traffic ban for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes, buses, bicycles, pedestrians and vehicles carrying dangerous goods.

As the "46 lacets" road is in the construction zone, access is closed to all types of vehicles. For bikes, detour via Casterino or take the Italian train between Tende and Limone.
