Les Amis du Val Rahmeh-Menton invite you to the Conference "Carbon and its diamonds in space and the solar system", by Bruno LOPEZ and Alexis MATTER, Astronomers at the Joseph-Louis Lagrange Laboratory of the Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur.

The research carried out by A. Matter and B. Lopez, Astronomers at the Joseph-Louis Lagrange Laboratory of the Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur, are investigating the physical conditions in which planets are born around young stars. One of their recent observations, soon to be published, locates the presence of diamonds in the environment of a forming exoplanet. Their research is advancing on this subject with the MATISSE instrument, a veritable cosmic dust imager combining the power of 4 of the telescopes of the Very Large Telescope VLT observatory in Chile.
