Description

Built in the 10th century, it was originally the dungeon of a fortress encompassing the entire village. Panoramic view of Monaco, the sea, Cap Martin and the village.
The medieval castle of Roquebrune is one of the few examples of Carolingian architecture in France. Long owned by the Grimaldi family, the residents of Roquebrune voted to join France in 1861. Later, William Ingram, the owner of the property, donated it to the town in 1921. Since then, the site—designated a Historic Monument—has been open to the public.
