A beautiful excursion on the heights of the village, practicable by classic mountain bike and mountain bike with electric assistance.

This long loop takes you away from the village and out into nature. Some twenty kilometers long, it is accessible to mountain bikes and electrically-assisted mountain bikes. From the La Brigue train station, head up to the village entrance at Place Saint-Martin. Here you'll find the information office. This long loop takes you away from the village and out into nature. Some twenty kilometers long, it is accessible to mountain bikes and electrically-assisted mountain bikes. From the La Brigue train station, head up to the village entrance at Place Saint-Martin. Here you'll find the information office. Opposite the collegiate church of Saint-Martin is a fountain with drinking water. To the left of the fountain, go up rue Filippi, then at an intersection continue along rue Lieutenant Kalck to the village exit, where you'll pass a fountain.
Continue on the road that climbs after the bridge towards the vallée des prés for about 2 kilometers. At the first intersection, turn right onto a winding road just after marker 249. Drive up the Mergiora valley. Pass signpost 247 and the next intersection, then continue past signpost 246 towards the Géreron drop.
After about a kilometer and a half, you'll come to a barrier, turn right and take the small climb up to the Baisse de Géréon. This barrier is the direction to follow to continue on your way, after taking a short break and enjoying the scenery of the Baisse de Géréon. Continue downhill towards the small barrier and follow this dirt and rock track for around 6 kilometers. You'll cross several pleasantly cool wooded valleys. The last section, a little more exposed, takes you to the Pinet woods.
You then come to a section of the Route de l'Amitié. Continue downhill towards point 1236, then take the hairpin bend onto a track that leads through the Bois du Pinet towards the Chapelle Notre Dame des Fontaines. Watch your pace as you may come across motorized vehicles on this stretch. Continue for about 6 km to the Notre Dame des Fontaines chapel. At the chapel, you can descend to the bottom of the valley to enjoy the cool springs. The frescoes inside the chapel are well worth a visit. To finish this loop, follow the asphalt road downhill to the village of La Brigue.
A kilometer and a half after the chapel you come to a crossroads, cross the bridge and turn left towards the village. You pass an old mill and the old lime kiln. Below the lime kiln is a gorge, ideal for swimming. A kilometer further on, you pass the Pont du Coq, and continue towards the village. Cross the Boseille bridge and follow the road along the river to the Place de Nice.
