This third stage is part of the paying section: toll at Monesi di Triora in the previous stage. This route can be done on a classic mountain bike (pro level) or on an electrically assisted mountain bike. It is the third stage of the roaming of the Haute Route du Sel (direction La Brigue - Tende) and can be done on the occasion of a simple round trip (joining the Col des Seigneurs in a 4x4).

Departure from the Col des Seigneurs car park (or from the Don Barbera refuge, possibility of recharging for VTTAE, below the car park) towards the Brigasque enclave of the Marguareis massif. Follow the track north. It is possible to follow a grass and dirt course parallel to the track on the right for about 1.5 kilometers to avoid motorized vehicles.

After about two kilometres, the track leads to Plan Ambreuge and its sheepfold. The sumptuous landscape offers a contrast between rock and alpine grass, you could touch the sky with your fingertips. The whole is dominated by Pointe Marguareis (2650 m.), Pas de Scarasson (2302 m.) and Castel Frippi (2256 m.).

Continue following the track that rises through the rocks towards Castel Chevolail to reach the Col de la Boaïra (2102 m.). Just after, a hairpin bend, suspended in the void, offers a breathtaking view. We often meet tourists there taking pictures.

Direction Col de la Perle (2086 m.), while following the track. Past this pass, continue following the track for about 5 kilometers to the Col de Tende. Fort Central appears, it's the finish.

Last climb to Fort Central, a construction with a military vocation (disused), it locks the upper Roya, standing proudly on the Col de Tende. The latter is located a few meters further, at beacon 340 (1890 m.)

    End of the third stage.

Possibility to reach a chalet by following the track on the right for a well-deserved break! (marmot cabin)
