Tree of the Fabaceae family, the Geoffroea decorticans is native to the northern regions of Chile and Argentina. It can reach 10 meters in height and its trunk measures up to 40 cm in diameter.
Its foliage, of tender green color, very abundant in summer and deciduous in winter, gives it a rounded image in its top.
Its flowering, which occurs from May to July in our Mediterranean region, consists of flowers with pigmented petals of an intense yellow, and its fruits, the drupes, soft and fleshy, are edible.
