The Maison de la Francophonie Côte d'Azur organizes the SAF, a literary event during which French-speaking authors from all genres and backgrounds meet their readers for book signings and short conferences.
In keeping with the values of the Francophonie, this book fair will be open to all: authors published by publishing houses as well as self-published authors. All literary styles will be represented: romance, detective fiction, children's fiction, thrillers, fantasy, historical fiction, autobiography, illustrated novels, photo-novels, travelogues... The aim of this kind of fair is to showcase the writing and phrasing of French-speaking authors from all over the world.
Over 160 authors from the PACA region are in contact with the Maison de la Francophonie Côte d'Azur (MFCA) to set up this new salon. Some forty authors are expected to take part. They will include authors from all over the region, from Menton to Marseille, as well as international francophone writers, notably from Italy and Switzerland.
This fair is destined to travel. The project was initiated by author Maddy, secretary and co-founder of the Maison de la Francophonie Côte d'Azur, who created the event in response to a joke on social networking sites about the lack of literary events in the PACA region. So she organized a survey, gathered information and coordinated her actions. By joining the Maisons de la Francophonie network, Maddy wanted the Salon des Auteurs Francophones to be a showcase for Provençal writers. As a result, the salon is an event that will travel, over the years, under the banner of the Maisons de la Francophonie de Provence: Maison de la Francophonie Toulon, Maison de la Francophonie Marseille and Maison de la Francophonie Manosque.
This first Côte d'Azur edition is a springboard for Francophone writing and its values, as the MFCA is an association whose main, bold objective is to humanize globalization through diplomacy, diversity, and the learning and practice of Francophone languages.
