Description
Tracking, stalking, automatic cameras, night vision, and night hearing: two days at an altitude of 1,500 meters, in the heart of the Mercantour, alongside a documentary filmmaker who grew up in the Roya Valley and knows its most elusive animals.
This weekend will introduce you to wildlife observation as practiced by a wildlife filmmaker: with patience, discretion, and a keen sense of the terrain. You’ll learn to read the signs left by animals, to remain motionless while on the lookout, and to review the images captured by trail cameras. You’ll also explore the mountains at night, listening to and observing animals in the dark. At the same time, you’ll explore the flora and landscapes of the upper valley.
Your guide: Rémy Masseglia
A photographer passionate about the wild, Rémy Masseglia has maintained a special connection with the landscapes of the Mercantour since childhood. Inheriting a deep appreciation for nature, he dedicates his work to highlighting the riches of this natural area, raising awareness about it, and preserving it.
Through the documentary film *Naïs in the Land of Wolves*, he lends an intimate dimension to this endeavor by sharing the exploration of the wild with his daughter. As she walks the trails of the Mercantour between the ages of 1 and 3, Naïs marvels at the diversity of life and forges her first connections with nature during a family adventure marked by discovery and the passing down of knowledge.
