The “winter” cliff
of Castillon
Castillon cliff above Menton is one of the top climbing sites in the Alpes-Maritimes. It’s known as the “winter” cliff because it’s so hot here that you can only climb it between November and March. You’re bound to meet famous climbers who come here to train.
It has a variety of routes (55 in total) near the Caramel Viaduct. There are two sectors to it: Traduction and Arcade. Arcade is the oldest one and the most exciting of the two. The rather steep left side has a serious incline (45°) whilst the routes on the right are more varied and suitable for all climbing styles.

La Brigue:
a challenging Via Ferrata
A heady adventure that’s not for the faint-hearted! La Brigue’s south-facing Via Ferrata is only for experienced climbers. The challenging 600m route includes a dizzying 120m long zip-line and 8 monkey bridges including one with a 27m drop!

Via des Hérétiques
The Via Ferrata des Hérétiques is a challenging route that takes you back in time exploring the Lascaris counts’ medieval castle ruins, Hérétiques cave and Saint-Sauveur Chapel. With rungs, ramps, zip-lines, crossings and vertical passages, you’re in for an adrenalin-pumping climb surrounded by the showstopping Upper Roya Valley.
