Sailing & water sports
Thrills and spills

Roquebrune-Cap-Martin Sailing Centre on Carnolès Beach provides sailing, windsurfing, sailing dinghies, catamaran, sea kayaks and optimist dinghies all year round.
Take things slow
paddle boarding
Menton Water Sports Centre provides a qualified coach to give beginners SUP top tips. Grab your paddle, zip up your life jacket, tie your leash from your ankle to your board then it’s time to test your balance and ride the waves! It’s a low-intensity sport that suits anyone from families with kids (6 and over) to novices of all ages.
Bright skies and calm seas are ideal for SUP, the trendiest sport on our beaches. Stand up, sit down or lie down but just keep paddling!
Sea boat trips
The call of the sea
If you just want to get a good dose of sea air on board a boat then you can set sail from Menton to explore the Azur coast and its treasures multiple times a day. It’s a great way to see another side to the coast.
Journées de la Mer Festival
Menton devotes one weekend in June to protecting the environment and sea. The Esplanade des Sablettes plays host to educational events: deep sea games, underwater archaeology introductions and guided sailing tours that everyone will love.
Scuba diving
The dazzling depths
There are countless clubs on the French Riviera coastline for rookie, beginner or experienced divers. You’ll see a wide variety of fish and diverse seabeds. Diving clubs provide one-to-one and group classes taught by qualified coaches so you can enjoy your experience with peace of mind.
Beach day
Bask in the sunshine
Why not just have a break chilling on the beach with the family? Take your pick from a pebble or sand beach! Our top tip? Sablettes Beach in Menton is perfectly set up with its new esplanade home to benches in the shade and misters. There are lots of places to eat on the waterfront too. The neighbouring sandy beach is ideal for young children as it’s one of the shallowest beaches on the Côte d’Azur.
As for Rondelli Beach, it’s a cute little Menton beach with some of the best views of the old town. The sand beach is popular with families and has a lifeguard in summer.
Caraïbe, the secret beach
Roquebrune-Cap-Martin is home to the exotically-named Caraïbe Beach. You guessed it: Caraïbe means Caribbean! But only the locals call it that. The water is as clear as in the South Seas and you can only reach it on foot via the 800m hillside path from the train station.
