Training in the restoration of dry stone walls

For the 6th year running, the French Riviera Community is organizing training days dedicated to the restoration of dry stone walls. Next dates between May and September: registration is now open! Emblematic of our landscapes, dry stone walls are modest structures that conceal an ancestral construction technique using no binding agents or mortar. They combine both landscape and environmental knowledge. Their construction is a skill that the French Riviera Community wishes to protect and pass on. Over the centuries, they have enabled the cultivation of the steep slopes of our territory, and are true natural habitats for numerous species. They also have the advantage of retaining the thrust of the land, allowing water to filter through and preventing erosion by run-off. These days are organized in the open air in the form of a workshop with a professional mason. They're free and open to all! Participants should bring safety shoes or hiking boots, a cap, a picnic lunch, water and gloves (in groups of 15). - for safety reasons, children are not admitted to training courses).
