Most activities are free. Charges may apply for some special events and mountain bike hire, for example.

2. Can I take part in the workshops without booking?

4. Are there any special measures for people with reduced mobility?

The festival strives to be accessible to all. The farmers’ market is held in the tarmac car park at Castérino, which is accessible to people with reduced mobility. The outdoor activities (walks, treasure hunts, etc.) are not adapted for people with reduced mobility. You can, however, take advantage of a number of activities available throughout the weekend 👉 market, conferences, yoga, creative workshops, climate fresco or the play. 5. How can we contribute to the eco-responsibility of the festival?

We encourage car pooling, the use of reusable water bottles and respect for waste sorting practices.

6. What ecological measures are taken during the festival?

Yes, the farmers’ market offers a variety of local products that you can buy and take away. The same goes for the artisans.

A touring destination in the heart of the Alps

RivierAlp creates great crossings between the Alps and the Mediterranean. It’s a cross-border itinerary network between France and Italy, comprising 9 walking routes and 7 cycling routes, totalling more than 430 km! Designed to accommodate a wide range of activities – hiking, road biking, mountain biking, gravel biking or VTTAE – you can discover the region at your own pace. You can walk for several days, cycle from one valley to the next, link mountain and sea, or choose a stage to suit your level of ability. Everywhere, the same spirit: take your time, discover and experience the RivierAlp region.

There’s also a huge diversity of landscapes at every stage. On the French side, the Roya and Bévéra valleys, as far as the Menton coastline, offer a spectacular transition to the sea, with its hilltop villages, fortified heritage and balconies overlooking the Mediterranean.

Along the way, you’ll pass through authentic villages, discovering a living heritage, emblematic places and encounters that give meaning to the journey. Local restaurants, local produce and local know-how are all along the way, inviting you to explore the region in a different way, beyond the route, through its flavours and its stories.
And the adventure doesn’t stop there. RivierAlp is also a fantastic outdoor playground, where you can climb, fly, canyoneer your way through the gorges and enjoy a whole host of experiences that combine effort, discovery and thrills.

On foot or by bike, itineraries designed for touring

From the heart of the Italian and French Alps, the routes gradually head towards the sea. They are organised around a departure point at Limone, three arrival points – Menton, San Remo and Imperia – and several entry points that allow you to join the routes at different points in the area. You can plan your itinerary according to your wishes: a complete crossing, a tour in stages, or a targeted exploration of a valley or slope.

A European project serving the region

RivierAlp was born out of the European Interreg VI-A France-Italy ALCOTRA project.
It is part of a cooperation approach between Alpine and Mediterranean territories, with the aim of developing sustainable, balanced and shared tourism.
The project brings together French and Italian institutional and regional partners committed to preserving natural environments and supporting local players.
RivierAlp is an invitation to travel differently, with a clear conscience, in the heart of a living region.
